Throughout history, natural stone has stood the test of time. On the exterior of your home, using natural stone is a no-brainer instantly increasing curb appeal, and the longevity of stone makes it an appealing investment for homeowners. With the growing increase in designing homes that are not only beautiful and “timeless” but also sustainable, it’s no wonder why many of our clients are gravitating towards incorporating natural stone into their interior renovation or new home build in some way. Many times, we find inspiration through the product itself, and Erthcoverings has a variety of options that satiate this designer girl’s need for inspiration.
From the absolutely stunning Historical Collection which we’ve used even in modern settings, to their Large Strips series and everything in between, we can turn the ordinary into spectacular with sometimes as little as an accent feature around the fireplace seen in one of our recent suburban projects. Our clients invested in a see-through gas unit between their kitchen and family space. Since each side of the fireplace faced a different area of the house with different functions, we used the opportunity to warm up the family room side by creating a feature wall using White Wolf 3D stones and a floating white quartz hearth. With a wall that show-stopping we needed to make sure the TV didn’t cover it all up and designed the television millwork to take it’s supporting role beside the fireplace.
When the large strips series were first released in White Wolf our clients and I jumped at the opportunity to create a dynamic focal point for their main level reno. Raising the ceilings from 8ft to 11ft high and creating a three-sided fireplace “island”, we wrapped the stone from floor to ceiling on all four sides. The product was easy for our installers to work with and offered huge visual impact for the investment.
Even though the products mentioned are from the same stone, the effect is completely different based on the series textures, finishes and creative use of application. I highly recommend Erthcoverings as a creative source for residential stone and look forward to creating more beautiful and sustainable designs with their products.
